A Quick Project

On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand - Hymn- Art Print
Yesterday I had a request on my Etsy shop to take this hymn art print
and add a light watercolor wash in the background behind the letters.
It only took a short time to do, and it has made me want to work more
with adding some color to some other art prints that I have. I probably wouldn't
have chosen to do it this way myself (only in the background), but I like the idea of
having some color added to it.

**********
My hope is built on nothing less
 Than Jesus' blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus' name.
On Christ the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

 For other foundation can no man lay than
that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:11

"Come and See"

If there is anyone reading this who does not know the Lord Jesus Christ,
I pray that you, too, will "come and see" as Philip once said to Nathanael.

And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing
come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see
John 1:46

Oh friend, I'd like to tell you
Of One so dear to me.
He is the only Saviour;
Oh, won't you "come and see"?

I cannot taste for you
Forgiveness full and free;
But, Oh! I'd like to urge you,
My friend, to "come and see"!

You'll find in Him a Refuge
If you will only seek
With all your heart and mind and soul
The Shepherd of the sheep.

Don't linger at the portals
But flee to Him Who died!
He rose again, and now you'll find
A Refuge in His side.

His blood was shed, the debt to pay
For all those who believe;
Each one of those who comes to Him
Eternal life receives.

Strawberry Rhubarb Crumb Pie

 I remember when I was small my mom making this delicious dessert...we all loved it!
We recently for the first time in many years were able to plant some rhubarb plants of our
own, and I'm looking forward to being able to have this delicious dessert again
sometime, Lord willing!

 Strawberry Rhubarb Crumb Pie
1  eggs
1 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 pound fresh rhubarb, cut into 1/2 inch pieces (about 3 cups)
1 pint fresh strawberries, halved
1 unbaked pie shell (9 inches)
TOPPING:
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup quick-cooking or rolled oats
1/2 cup butter
In a mixing bowl, beat egg. Beat in sugar, flour and vanilla; mix well. Gently fold in rhubarb and strawberries. Pour into pie shell. For topping, combine flour, brown sugar and oats in a small bowl; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over filling. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes, reduce heat to 350 and bake for about 35 minutes more, or until golden and bubbly. Enjoy!

Psalm 25:8-9

 Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he
teach sinners in the way.  The meek will he guide in
 judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

Teach me, Lord

"Teach me, Lord,
When to speak, and when to be silent;
When to be still, and when to move forward;
When I must rest, and when I must labor;
Please guide me each step of the way!"

 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy Spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness. Psalms 143:10

 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Psalms 25:4

Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. Psalms 86:11

Crochet Projects

 I recently made this doily for my mom, as her previous one
that she liked had been crocheted a little too loosely, and consequently
had gotten stretched out over time.  It had been awhile since I had
worked with such a small crochet hook and yarn, so it took a little
bit to get used to it again. :)

 And this baby blanket (destined for my Etsy shop)
is another project I just completed this past week.
Now I just need to take the time to get some good
photos taken of it so I can get it listed on there! :)

My Saviour First of All

Fanny Crosby's hymns are among my favorites, and this one
in particular has often brightened my day by it's encouraging words.
I hope and pray that it might cheer you today as well as you reflect on the wonderful
coming day when we who are His children shall see our Saviour, face to face!

My Saviour First of All
By Fanny Crosby

When my life work is ended and I cross the swelling tide,
When the bright and glorious morning I shall see,
I shall know my Redeemer when I reach the other side,
And His smile will be the first to welcome me.

Refrain:
I shall know Him, I shall know Him,
And redeemed by His side I shall stand!
I shall know Him, I shall know Him
By the print of the nails in His hands.

O the soul thrilling rapture when I view His blessed face
And the luster of His kindly beaming eye;
How my full heart will praise Him for His mercy, love and grace
That prepare for me a mansion in the sky.

(Refrain)

Thro' the gates to the city in a robe of spotless white,
He will lead me where no tears will ever fall;
In the glad song of ages I shall mingle with delight--
But I long to meet my Saviour first of all.

(Refrain)

The fear of the Lord

In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and His

children shall have a place of refuge.

First blooms of the season

 I was happy when one of our rose bushes just recently started
blooming for the first time this year!
So pretty.

 Lots of clover has also started blooming around our yard, which I'm always happy to see!
And, these little ladybugs are always welcome. :)

 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice
Philippians 4:4
