How do we know if we are abiding in Him, and His Words are abiding in us? God gives us the answer to that here in 1 John:
"But whoso keepeth His word, in him verily is the love of God perfected:
hereby know we that we are in Him."

And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him.
And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

It's not by doing what's right in our own eyes, but testing our lives by the holy Word of God, and keeping His commandments. Are we desiring to keep His commandments?

Agree so, dear Sunshine.. Ps 119 “Thy Word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against Thee”. Key indeed as you say is not merely reading of Word but in heeding it.
Walking in the light as He is in the light (1 John1). ... O dear Lord May we always reflect Thee in all we do.

How beautiful is the Word of the Lord and how lovingly He watches over His weak little sheep.
