Take Heed

And He said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness:
for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things
which he possesseth.

Luke 12:15

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.   Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Colossians 3:1-3

A Quote

"To ascertain the Lord's will we ought to use scriptural means. Prayer, the word of God, and His Holy Spirit should be united together. We should go to the Lord repeatedly in prayer, and ask Him to teach us by His Spirit through His Word. I say, by His Spirit through His Word. For if we should think that His Spirit led us to do so and so, because certain facts are so and so, and yet His word is opposed to the step which we are going to take, we should be deceiving ourselves." - George Muller

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; ~Ephesians 6:17-18

God Leads

  1. In shady, green pastures, so rich and so sweet,
    God leads His dear children along;
    Where the water’s cool flow bathes the weary one’s feet,
    God leads His dear children along.

Refrain:
Some through the waters, some through the flood,
Some through the fire, but... {and the most precious part of all}....
all through the blood; (1 John 1:7)
Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song,
In the night season and all the day long.

                                                           Sometimes on the mount where the sun shines so bright,
God leads His dear children along;

Sometimes in the valley, in darkest of night,
God leads His dear children along.

Refrain:
Some through the waters, some through the flood;
Some through the fire, but all through the blood.
Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song.
In the night season, and all the day long.

Though sorrows befall us and Satan oppose,
God leads His dear children along;

Through grace we can conquer, defeat all our foes,
God leads His dear children along.

Away from the mire, and away from the clay,
God leads His dear children along;
Away up in glory, eternity's day,
God leads His dear children along.

 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far
off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
~Ephesians 2:13

Pleasant Words

Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul,
and health to the bones.
Proverbs 16:24

The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination
to the LORD: but the words of the pure are
pleasant words
~Proverbs 15:26

Our words also can be as wounds:

 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly. ~Proverbs 18:8

This verse is even repeated a second time:

 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly. ~Proverbs 26:22

God's Word has a lot to tell us about what we say!

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. ~Proverbs 18:21

  For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: ~1 Peter 3:10

Even in a world surrounded by unpleasant words, we have God's holy Word that is pure, pleasant Words to meditate on.

  "Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that
 put their trust in him."
~Proverbs 30:5

Perhaps you can be a blessing to someone today, by speaking pleasant words.

Taught of God

 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
 ~Psalms 25:5~

The need of the world is the same as it has always been: more of God's Word, less of man's. ~Unknown

Beatitudes #9

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and

persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against
you falsely, for my sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great
is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they
the prophets which were before you.

Matthew 5:11-12
