Meet the Penguin named “Joe”. 😄 My little nephew loves penguins. It turns out that I like them, too. 🙂 I decided to sew him a little stuffed penguin. After searching online for a pattern, I found the cutest pictures of a cloth penguin…but couldn’t find a pattern for it. After much searching, comparing pictures, and consulting my pattern book for teddy bears, I was able to design my own pattern. I was pleased with how it turned out! Most of all, it made my day to see how my nephew reacted when he seen it for the first time a few months ago. He smiled the biggest smile, hugged the penguin tight, and exclaimed - “I like it!!”
His mom and I tried to help him name it. After suggesting many different names, to which he kept responding with a quizzical look on his face: “Penguins aren’t named that!”😂 He finally settled on the name, “Joe”.😄
Here are some pictures of the sewing process along the way.
I missed getting photos of each step, but here’s what I did capture.
My cat, Kali, loves to watch everything I am doing.
This was no exception. 😄
Someday, I hope to share my penguin pattern on my Etsy shop. Until then, I might get busy making some more of these for my other nieces and nephews. I’ll likely be designing some other little animals besides.
